Celebrate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (4)September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, a month to rally behind children and their families facing cancer diagnoses. Each day, 36 children are diagnosed with cancer (Gold In September, 2016). During the month of September, 25,000 families around the world will get the horrible news that their child or teen has cancer and 6,667 families will experience the loss of a child (Children’s Cancer Research Fund, 2016).

Pediatric cancer continues to be the leading cause of death in children under the age of 15. Despite major advancements in research and treatment, pediatric cancer remains under served by financial support compared to other cancer awareness campaigns. This month, we stand with families facing childhood cancer now, we remember young individuals gone too soon, and we dedicate ourselves to fighting this terrible illness in hopes that fewer families have to hear the words, “your child has cancer.”

Go for gold with us in September and every day so we can help every child diagnosed with cancer now and in the future. How can you help?
