Christine Apa

CEO and Founder

Christine graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with the degree in Asian American Studies, where her passion was split between understanding the Asian American Psychology and her love for Polynesian dance. As president of the Polynesian Dance Group at UCSB she started an annual benefit concert for Make-A-Wish foundation. Over the past 10 years Christine’s altruistic endeavors ranged from a Fundraising Captain for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Greater LA Marathon Team, as well as starting her own volunteer programs in Belize, Central America. She started The 24 Foundation at an artist retreat in September of 2009 finally combining her love for the arts, and fascination with the power of healing that it provides. As president she oversees all aspects of the organization, as well as developing the program to serve more people.

Julieanne Tadeo

Marketing & Business Development

Jules has a degree in Communications from San Francisco State University and has over 6 years of Marketing Experience. Dedicated to The 24 Foundation, Jules oversees marketing, social media and the business development of the foundation. She works tirelessly with Christine to make sure that we are growing to serve more people in the community, as well as maintaining the quality of each program. Jules also shares her love of art as a Visual Arts and Photography mentor.

Rachel Dorsey

Director of Operations


Rachel is an aspiring singer who attended Musician's Institute for vocals. Her passion is music and loves the opportunity to combine life experience with that passion to facilitate healing. She has been with 24 Foundation since its planning stages before our first program in 2009. She is a gifted mentor coordinator who finds a way to balance the organized chaos of working with over 40 artists and 150 teenagers to create an amazing program.

Kip Fulbeck

Board Member

Kip is an award-winning artist, spoken word performer, and filmmaker. He has been featured on CNN, MTV, The TODAY Show, and PBS, and has performed and exhibited in over twenty countries and throughout the U.S. He is the author of several books including Mixed: Portraits of Multiracial Kids; Part Asian, 100% Hapa; and Permanence: Tattoo Portraits, as well as the director of a dozen short films including Banana Split and Lilo & Me.

Kip teaches as a professor of Art at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he received the University’s Distinguished Teaching Award and has been named an Outstanding Faculty Member four times. In recognition for his work promoting multiracial awareness, Kip was awarded the inaugural Loving Prize at the 2009 Mixed Roots Film & Literary Festival and also named a Cultural Pioneer at Harvard University.

A complete overachiever despite being only half-Chinese, Kip is an avid surfer, guitar player, motorcycle rider, ocean lifeguard, and pug enthusiast. He is also a world-ranked Masters swimmer and the 2011 Masters National Champion in the 50 freestyle.
